Best Directory Submission Services for SaaS in 2026
The best directory submission service is the one that lists you on relevant, crawled directories your buyers browse, not the one with the biggest number. For volume on a one-time budget, StartupSubmit, LaunchDirectories and SubmitSaaS charge $60 to $199. ListingBott lets you approve every listing. LightSpeedBolt, which we run, includes 25 curated submissions inside a $99 launch kit, and doing the top directories yourself is free.

The 20 to 30 directories that matter most take a few evenings with our free list.
How we compared them
We compared six ways to get a SaaS or AI product listed in directories, using each service's own pricing page, checked in October 2026 and linked beside every option. For each we recorded the price, the number of directories per package, the stated turnaround, whether submissions are manual, and any Domain Rating (DR) claim.
We did not order every package for this article, so we cannot report how many listings each service actually got approved or indexed. Treat the directory counts as the vendors' own numbers. The options are listed by starting price, cheapest first; that order is not a ranking.
Several services discount heavily from a list price ("launch pricing", "50% off"). We quote the price shown at the time we checked; expect it to change.
What we looked at
Relevance over count
Ten listings on directories your buyers browse beat a hundred on sites nobody visits or Google never indexes.
Approval and control
Can you see and veto the list first? Will your description, category and screenshots be consistent everywhere?
Proof
A report with live URLs or screenshots lets you check each listing. Counts without URLs are hard to verify.
Turnaround
Listings that go live during launch week compound with the rest of your launch.
Honest metrics
A DR increase is an Ahrefs score, not a ranking or traffic guarantee. We discount services that sell it as one.

The directories that matter most for a SaaS (Product Hunt, G2, Capterra, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo and your category's niche boards) can be done by hand. Our free guide lists 100+ by category. You write one description, reuse it everywhere and keep a spreadsheet of live URLs.

Limitations

No DR guarantee
Not the cheapest option if directories are all you want
Yes, with the right expectations. A good directory listing does three things: it puts you in front of people browsing your category, it gives search engines a crawled page that links to you, and it adds a consistent third-party description that Google and AI assistants can use to understand what your product is.
What directories will not do is rank a site on their own. Most directory links are modest signals, and links from low-quality bulk directories can be ignored entirely. Relevance matters more than count: G2, Capterra, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo and the niche boards for your category are worth more than a hundred generic link lists.
Several services promise to raise your Domain Rating. DR is an Ahrefs metric that scores the strength of a site's backlink profile against others in the Ahrefs database on a 100-point scale. Ahrefs itself notes that DR correlates with Google rankings less strongly than URL Rating does, and Google does not use DR at all.
A new domain starts near zero, so any batch of links will move it. That jump does not mean more traffic, better rankings or more customers. Use DR as a rough sanity check and judge a directory service on relevance, proof of live listings and how many of those pages get indexed. Our Domain Rating glossary entry explains the metric in more detail.
How to choose a directory submission service
Ask for the directory list first. You should be able to see, or approve, where you will be listed.
Check for your category. AI tools need AI directories; developer tools need developer boards; B2B SaaS needs review sites.
Insist on live URLs. A report with each listing's URL or screenshot is the only way to verify the work.
Keep your copy consistent. Same product name, one-line description, category and logo everywhere. Consistency helps search engines and AI assistants resolve your brand.
Ignore round numbers. "300 directories" is a marketing number. Twenty relevant, indexed listings are worth more.
Where LightSpeedBolt fits
LightSpeedBolt includes 25 curated directory submissions in the $99 Liftoff kit, alongside a feature article, backlinks, Reddit launch posts and a GitHub repo, all in the same 72-hour window. That is the better deal when directories are one part of your launch.
If directories are all you want and you want as many as possible, a dedicated service gives you more listings per dollar: SubmitSaaS on price, StartupSubmit on volume, LaunchDirectories on manual curation, and ListingBott if you want to approve every listing.
Frequently asked questions
Do directory submissions help SEO?
Relevant, indexed directory listings help a new site get discovered and give search engines and AI assistants a consistent third-party description of your product. Individually they are modest ranking signals, and links from low-quality bulk directories may be ignored.
How many directories should a SaaS submit to?
Start with the 20 to 30 that fit your category and that buyers actually browse, such as Product Hunt, G2, Capterra, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo and niche boards for your space. Add more only if they are relevant and indexed.
Are directory submission services safe?
Curated, manual submissions to real directories are a normal part of launching. The risk comes from bulk submissions to spammy link directories, which add no value and can look manipulative. Ask for the directory list before you pay.
Will a directory service raise my Domain Rating?
Probably, because a new domain starts near zero and any batch of links moves it. DR is an Ahrefs score, not a Google metric, so a higher DR does not guarantee rankings or traffic.
Which directories are best for AI tools?
AI-specific directories such as There's An AI For That and Futurepedia, plus general launch platforms and review sites. Our startup launch directories guide groups them by category.
