Best Product Hunt Launch Services and Startup Launch Platforms in 2026
The best way to launch a SaaS is a launch week, not a single post. Product Hunt and Hacker News's Show HN are free and you post them yourself; Uneed gives you a scheduled launch from free to $29.99. LightSpeedBolt, which we run, handles the rest of the week for $99: directories, a feature article, backlinks, Reddit posts and a GitHub repo. Product Hunt agencies such as Social Growth Labs and Halo Lab quote custom campaigns. The free platforms are included because launching on them yourself is the baseline any paid launch service should beat.

How we compared them
We compared the places founders launch and the services that launch for them, using each platform's own launch guide or pricing page, checked in October 2026 and linked beside each option. For every option we recorded what it costs, who does the work, what you get, and the rules that can get a launch removed.
We did not measure launch-day traffic per platform, because results depend far more on the product, the audience and the preparation than on the platform. The options are listed by starting cost, cheapest first; that order is not a ranking.
Listed by starting price, not ranked. Prices checked October 2026 on each provider's own site (sources below); vendors change plans often, so verify before you buy.
Product Hunt is a daily launch board for tech products, and its launch guide states it is free to use. You need a personal account to post (company accounts cannot), and new accounts complete onboarding before they can post. Its guidelines prohibit asking for upvotes, incentivizing them or mass-messaging people.
Best for: SaaS, AI and maker products with a polished page and an audience to tell.
Strengths
Free, with an audience of people looking for new tech products
Posting yourself keeps full control of the launch
A lasting product page and reviews
Limitations
Launch day takes real preparation and a full day of replies
Asking for upvotes can get you pushed down or removed
Show HN is Hacker News's format for sharing something you made that people can try. The rules ask for work readers can use, ideally without signups or emails, and exclude blog posts, sign-up pages, newsletters and lists. They also say plainly not to ask friends to upvote or comment.
Best for: Developer tools and technical products readers can try immediately.
Strengths
Free, with a technical, high-signal audience
Candid feedback from experienced builders
Good fit for open-source and developer tools
Limitations
Landing pages and waitlists do not qualify
No control over ranking; many posts get little attention
Pricing: Free waiting line; Fast-track $14.99; Skip the Line $29.99 (source)
Uneed runs daily launches. The free option assigns a date that can be up to 5 months out; Fast-track ($14.99) assigns a slot in about 14 days, and Skip the Line ($29.99) lets you pick your date. Skip the Line guarantees a dofollow backlink from Uneed's DR 75 site; free launches need an upvote score of 20 for the backlink and 10 to stay published.
Best for: Indie founders who want a scheduled launch day and a dofollow backlink at low cost.
Strengths
Free option, and cheap paid priority
Guaranteed dofollow backlink with Skip the Line
Pick your date for $29.99
Limitations
Free waiting line can be months long
Free launches need upvotes to stay published and earn the backlink
Pricing: Free launch help (limited, by approval); full campaign quoted on request (source)
Halo Lab offers Product Hunt launch support in two forms. A limited free launch-help offer (not every request is approved) covers social copy, the product description, group post drafts, reply templates, banners and launch-day management. Full campaign support adds post-launch work, with pricing quoted after a call.
Best for: Startups that want an agency to prepare and manage Product Hunt launch day.
Strengths
Launch assets and launch-day management
A free tier for approved requests
Post-launch support on the full campaign
Limitations
No published price for the full campaign
Free help is limited and not guaranteed
Focused on Product Hunt rather than the whole launch week
LightSpeedBolt's Liftoff kit puts your product live across 25 launch-directory submissions, a feature article on one of 3 owned domains, 30+ backlinks from a partner network, 2 value-first Reddit launch posts, a GitHub SEO repo and llms.txt plus schema setup, inside a 72-hour window, with every link in a dashboard. For Product Hunt we prepare the assets, copy and checklist and support launch day; you post from your own maker account.
Best for: Founders who want the whole launch week handled, not only launch day.
Strengths
Covers the launch week, not just one platform
Lasting assets: listings, links, an article and a repo
$99 once, no subscription required
Limitations
Does not post on Product Hunt as you
Not a performance-based Product Hunt ranking campaign
25 directories, fewer than dedicated submission services
Social Growth Labs runs Product Hunt launch campaigns on a performance-based model: its site says that if it misses the agreed ranking goal, you do not pay the success fee. It says it drives authentic upvotes and real engagement, and warns against bot farms and paid-upvote services, which Product Hunt shuts down. It does not publish prices or packages; you book a call for a quote.
Best for: Funded teams that care most about a top Product Hunt finish.
Strengths
Performance-based pricing
Strategy and execution for launch day
Clear focus on Product Hunt results
Limitations
No published prices or package details
Launch-day methods are not described in detail; ask how it builds support, since Product Hunt prohibits soliciting upvotes
Launch day gets the attention, but the work that keeps paying off happens around it:
Before launch (2 to 4 weeks). Collect a waitlist, prepare screenshots, a short demo video and a one-line description you will reuse everywhere. Consistent wording helps Google and AI engines understand what you are. Our Product Hunt launch checklist has the full list.
Launch day. Pick one main stage (Product Hunt, Show HN or a niche board) and spend the day replying to every comment.
Launch week. Submit to relevant directories, publish a launch article, share an honest "what I built and why" post in subreddits that allow it, and earn your first referring domains.
After. Turn the attention into search traffic with SEO content and GEO, so you are still found when the launch fades.
What a launch costs
Free: Product Hunt, Show HN and Uneed's waiting line. You pay with preparation time.
Under $30: Uneed's Fast-track ($14.99) or Skip the Line ($29.99).
$60 to $499: directory submission services, from SubmitSaaS at $60 to ListingBott at $499 for 100 listings. See our directory service comparison.
$99: LightSpeedBolt's Liftoff kit for the whole launch week.
Custom: Product Hunt agencies such as Halo Lab and Social Growth Labs quote after a call.
Rules that can sink a launch
Each platform protects its rankings, and breaking the rules usually costs more than it gains:
Product Hunt prohibits asking people to upvote, offering incentives for upvotes, mass-messaging users and coordinated voting. Asking for upvotes can push a product down or off the homepage. Ask for feedback and comments instead.
Hacker News asks Show HN posters not to ask friends to upvote or comment, and only accepts things people can try.
Reddit subreddits set their own self-promotion rules. Read them, contribute first and disclose that you built the product. See Reddit marketing for SaaS.
If a launch service promises a guaranteed top spot, ask exactly how. Legitimate help means better preparation, assets and outreach to people who would genuinely care, not purchased or solicited votes.
Where LightSpeedBolt fits
LightSpeedBolt is built for the part of a launch most founders run out of time for: the directory forms, the launch article, the first backlinks, the Reddit posts and a GitHub repo that documents the product. All of it goes live in the same 72-hour window and stays live after launch day ends.
We do not post on Product Hunt as you. Launches work best from the maker's own account, so we prepare the assets, copy and checklist and support you on the day. If a top Product Hunt finish is the single goal and you have the budget, a specialist agency is the closer match. If you have more time than money, the free platforms plus our first 1,000 users playbook will take you a long way.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free to launch on Product Hunt?
Yes. Product Hunt's launch guide says it is free to use. You need a personal account to post, since company accounts cannot post products, and new accounts must finish onboarding first.
Should I hire a Product Hunt launch agency?
Only if a top finish matters enough to justify a custom fee. Most founders get more lasting value from preparing well, posting themselves and spending the budget on what lasts after launch day: listings, backlinks and content.
Is Product Hunt still worth it for SaaS?
It is still worth doing for most SaaS and AI tools because it is free and leaves a permanent product page. Treat it as one stage of a launch week, alongside directories, Reddit and a launch article, rather than the whole plan.
Where else can I launch besides Product Hunt?
Show HN suits developer tools and Uneed offers scheduled launches; our guide to startup launch directories lists 100+ more by category.
How long does it take to see results from a launch?
Launch-day traffic arrives on the day and fades within a day or two. Directory listings, backlinks and Reddit threads keep sending visitors for months and help search engines discover and index you, which is where launch weeks pay off.
